This page I used to portray what calms me and what kind of art I create when calm.
Geometric line art is something that keeps me calm, i concentrate heavily on the lines and links to create something that overall connects to make a larger geometric image.
Charcoal was used to create the look of waves, nothing feels calmer to me than being by the sea.
The colour blue always stands out as sadness to me, so I tried to use this colour to symbolize clouds and tears within two of the images.
The ink was used to create the look of tears falling, creating a puddling looking when they fall
Charcoal used to create a light into dark tone, the dark section being the root of sadness.
Had a great time playing around with some photography on my trip to Cornwall, something that I hadn’t done properly in ages.
Here’s a few of my favourite shots.
Emotion : Anger.
Strangely I think I’ve enjoyed portraying anger through marks and lines most so far. Could use so many different mediums / styles to get the feeling across.
Getting started with my first exercise; using expressive lines and marks started off difficult to envisage for me but after completing the first page I’m quite enjoying experimenting.
Emotion : Joy
